Palm Beach Autism Club is dedicated to providing community based learning experiences for adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder ages 21 and older.
The Palm Beach Autism Club is designed for adults with Autism ages 21 and older. Because our club takes place in the community, club members must have no recent history (within the last 2 years) of elopement or physical behaviors (e.g. aggression, property destruction, self-injurious behaviors). Club members need to be able to independently take care of toileting and feeding needs.
We offer meaningful community-based activities. Activities include visiting local areas in the community, shopping, and leisure.
Daily living skills will be practiced regularly. Examples of skills include meal preparation, following schedules, transportation, money management, and self-care activities.
We provide a small group environment for students to practice social skills and form meaningful friendships.
Club members will have opportunities to practice self-advocacy skills across all environments and activities.
Club members will participate in recreational activities with peers. Examples of recreational activities include sports, games, and outdoor activities such as nature hikes and beach walks.
Club members will be able to practice vocational skills in the community environment. Examples include volunteering, following task lists and schedules,
